R.I.P.

R.I.P Archie

Yesterday at noon I came home to find my bird Archie dead on my bed. All his tail feathers were pulled out and he had a tiny cut in his breast. He was also covered in saliva.
FiFi, Buster Peebody, Timmy and Ferret Face were all in the room.

Fifi would never do anything like that, Ferret face is so old that she could never move fast enough to catch him. So that left Timmy and Buster Peebody.

Timmy usually sleeps til noon when I go in and wake him up so I figured it was probably Buster Peebody. When I let them back into the room Buster Peebody ran straight to the spot where I found the tail feathers..he did it...I just know it. Since the great hamster massacre in '07 when 8 hamsters died from Hansel(ferret) and Buster Peebody scheming together there has been no indication of any problems.

Archie loved to fly all the time and had lived in the room for 2 years. I had never seen any reason to worry about the dogs killing him.
I feel very guilty, I guess I should have kept him locked up even though he hated it.
I will miss his machine gun/woody woodpecker noises that greeted me every morning...
RIP Archie

Oh we're so sorry, we have birds here too & DawgMom always locks them in their little crates when she leaves so we can't play with them. Sorry about yer little friend.

There's another possibility... a squirrel could have snuck in, done in Archie and snuck out again, thus framing everyone else, but especially the dogs... squirrels are not the harmless little fuzzballs you think they are.

Sorry about your loss.

OHHHH I am so sorry - please don't beat yourself up -
I'm with Tank, what about a neighborhood cat (they are quite sneaky) - these dogs need a good laywer.
Our dog was actually caught with a guinea pig in his mouth - we keep him away from the buns

Aw, we're so sorry about Archie. He probably appreciated having his freedom more than a long life.

Poor Archie. RIP little birdie.

Mom has her birds in a separate room with a screen door between us and them. We are never allowed in there. I am nearly 1 1/2 years old and have never stepped one paw in the bird room. I ignore mom's birds, but love chasing the ones outside.

Wags & wiggles,
Bijou

Oh, poor Archie. I know what it's like, we have a bird too and there have been a few close shaves. Most of the time she has to be shut in her cage.

Oh, Archie! I am so sad to hear that he is gone. Those bad, bad dogs (if it is them!) Sigh... sometimes they can be so careless.

I hope you are not too sad. He was a very lovely bird, and I know he will be missed much!

Poor Archie...I think birds and dogs(cats) don't mix well indoors.
