Felties and Ferrets!!

I am most excited. I received some paperclay in the mail yesterday and can't wait to try to make something. May be a disaster but I'm willing to take the chance. Hopefully Timmy won't eat it! I also have tea stained some faux fur and am going to try to make one of those old antique critters I like so much and of course I am still needlefelting. I can't just sit and watch TV...have to be doing something.
So here are my latest creations.
Wool ball fat cats..all covered with soft alpaca...
After taking pics of these I went to bed and what did I find??
A little scrawny ferret..
..
Not my big boy Hansel but a little wee girl.
I have actually had her since the fall but I didn't know if she was going to make it or not. It was touch and go for a while, but she seems to have fought back and is actually gaining weight. My fiance"s friend is getting a divorce and the ferret had to go. Yet he was able to keep 2 dogs and get a kitten...hmmmm
My friend wanted a ferret for her 5 years old daughter so we were going to give her to them..until we saw her..so tiny, so fragile and wobbly on her legs. She is deaf as most albinos are but has pretty good eyesight. Better than my Hansel.
Here's the kicker. Ferret average life span is 6-7yrs old. It's a big deal if you can get to 7. My Hansel will be 7 this year..well this grand lady is going on 10!!!
Imagine dumping a pet of that age. That is like dumping a 20yr old dog..
They also named her Ferret Face..what a cruddy name for this little lady.
She has become quite frisky and very steady on her legs. She is so sweet and cuddly. I just love her. She really doesn't like Hansel but he is rather stinky. She was spayed and descented so she doesn't smell....too bad..LOL
Hansel is the big guy on the right. I think she is trying to be a shark..Run Hansel!!!
Ewwww..you have a stinky butt!!!
Go away before I bite your legs off. Poor Hansel I kept tossing him up on the bed to take pics but there was no way he was hanging around!!!
PS--for all you pug lovers check out these little guys!!

Cute ferrets too!

Needle felting is really not hard. You just have to watch out that you don't stab your fingers too hard. I was thinking I might post a tutorial on how to make the cat balls..

What a lovely story about the ferret! She looks like such a sweetie. Have you given her another name yet, besides Ferret Face. Like you, I can't imagine dumping a pet, especially one that age. I am so glad she has you.

Your felting is really great! My ex had a ferret and when I picked it up it would nibble my ears. You have so many pets I can hardly believe it LOL!

What sweet ferrets, they look like so much fun. I've never seen albino ones before. How could someone want to dump a grand old lady like her???

The kitties are super cute, too!

Oh she is beautiful. We know what it is like to be deaf. he he That doesn't make us any different. We don't know what it is like to hear so how can we miss it??
